CoursesWe want people to come here because they enjoy pots, and that includes making them. Beginners are particularly welcome. You'll find you can throw a recognisable piece unaided within a week-end never having tried before, and you can make fine inventive slab pieces. Whatever length of course interests you there will be plenty of hours, constant help on hand, coffee on tap and a good lunch provided. There is a maximum of five students on any course to allow plenty of 'one to one' tuition. Please click on an image to see details of John in action at a recent open day:
We run Saturday specials and Week-endsSATURDAY SPECIALSI hope to offer one in December but it needs at least 4 people to be viable. Register your interest.....date negotiable, dependent on your preferences and what Christmas shows I get involved in. Click here to go back to the top... WEEK-ENDSThese allow immersion in the potting processes. You can prepare your own clay, throw, design, turn, handle, make larger slab pieces, decorate with slips... and talk it all over at leisure. John will demonstrate any techniques and be on hand to help you implement them. Of course we can't fire things that week-end but we can arrange for you to come and glaze another week-end if you want. Work Schedule: 9.30 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. (coffee and lunch-breaks) Maximum 5 students. If you want to 'reside' we can accommodate 5 with doubling up in rooms. The price includes a help-yourself breakfast and a hot lunch and any ten pieces glazed, fired and finished. The next weekend courses are:
